Comments: This guitar is a culmination of Matt’s woodworking skills and my perfectionist/obsessive compulsive nature. After three prototypes and lots of patience (on Matt’s part) this guitar embodies all the qualities I look for in a quality instrument. My Maillet has exceptional playability, versatility and beauty. You can hear this guitar on Crabby tracks, such as Jerry Springer, Little Things, and Stan T. The neck has incredible feel but what makes this guitar so special is its versatility. I can get a variety of tones ranging from ultra-clean to ultra-dirty. It has crisp highs and clear lows. Its natural finish is not only durable but incredibly vibrant – bringing out the natural detail in the AAAA carved maple top. I consider this guitar a superb instrument as well as a fabulous piece of artwork.

MODEL NAME: Gentleman Strat MODEL NUMBER: 2975 SERIES: Special order, Jackson Custom Shop – Made in the U.S.A COLOR: White w/ Mr. Boston graphic BODY : Poplar NECK Maple, Modern “C” Shape, (Satin Polyurethane Finish)  MACHINE HEADS: Jackson FINGERBOARD: Extra thick Brazilian Rosewood  # OF FRETS 22 Medium Jumbo Frets PICKUPS 2 Jackson High Output pickups (Alnico Magnets) (Neck & Bridge), Electronics: Jackson Active Pre-Amp with Mid Boost Control CONTROLS Master Volume, (“scratchy pots”) Tone (Neck and Bridge with Push/Pull Pot for coil tap on Neck pickup ), Mid Boost: (Bridge Pickup) BRIDGE Floyd Rose® Original Double Locking 2-Point Tremolo  PICKUP SWITCHING: Position 1.  Comments: This guitar was my main instrument from 1987 –1993. You can hear this guitar on early Crabby tracks, such as Like Me Like You, sims, Missing Out on Happiness. A remarkable guitar with an exceptional neck (Characteristic of the original Charvel guitar necks). Its tone is reminiscent of a Les Paul rather than a Strat (more mids than highs). Despite its Poplar body, the guitar is very dense (probably due to all the filler and lacquer on the body for the special paint job) giving the guitar a crunchy sound and giving me a sore shoulder. It now serves as my back-up guitar but I’ll pull it out every now when I need that extra crunch.

Marshall JCM-800 (50W), Circa 1986-1987. Tubes: Tesla EL34. Comments: The most important piece of equipment I own and certainly the most valuable. I went through at least a dozen amps before I found this gem. I was lucky enough to buy it brand new in 1987 from Ross Music in Providence, RI. I have yet to hear another amp that even comes close to matching the depth and character of this workhorse.  Marshall 1936 half stack (2 Celestion G12T-75W)
